Dry Rain

“Haven’t you noticed yet, Darren? It’s raining, I feel it coming down on my head, but I’m still dry!” Heavy drops of water tried to make their way to the ground, while Madelyn and Darren were following Houston to his place.
“No, Madelyn, I didn’t notice at all, because it obviously isn’t raining all of the cats and dogs that exist in the four worlds. Of course I didn’t notice we don’t get wet here.”
“Actually, this shower is just a kitten compared to what we’re used to. But, yes, water isn’t wet here. It used to, though, really.” Houston caught some water in his bowl folded hands. When he let it gently fall onto the ground, his hands didn’t show the former presence of water.
“We disabled water from being wet, since it was causing some trouble ‘round here. The Sucrose crickets started to melt and solve in the water and the ground. This resulted in the trees absorbing this sugared water and they all tuned sugar cane pink. Of course, this attracted the giant wasps and they formed a huge plague. Nobody likes wasps, so we had to find a solution. Which is why the water isn’t wet anymore.”
“Giant wasps? Horrifying. But what’s the fun of swimming if you can’t get wet?” Madelyn looked at a lake where bird were bathing, dolphins were swimming and young tapir people were playing. “No need for towels afterwards.”
